Karl Gallienne
Karl’s journey to finding home has been anything but ordinary. Born in France to parents chasing the Australian dream, his early years were spent moving between migration housing in Sydney and life on the road as his family worked as fruit and tobacco pickers. Home took many forms - an old camper truck, country farmhouses, and eventually a stone homestead in South Australia’s Riverland.
Growing up on the Murray River, Karl’s home became a place of open doors, shared meals, and a melting pot of languages and cultures. It was here that he learned independence, resilience, and the importance of community.
After studying Arts in Adelaide and Photojournalism in Cairns, Karl’s love of travel took him back to France, where he reconnected with his heritage. But it was in Margaret River, WA, that he found a new sense of belonging. Establishing a vineyard, managing cellar door sales, and later moving into winemaking and where he met his wife, Cheryl, and together they built their first home.
However, a holiday to Tasmania in 2003 changed everything. Drawn to the Huon Valley’s beauty and community, Karl and Cheryl made it their forever home in 2007. A chance opportunity led him into real estate, where he quickly discovered his passion for helping people navigate their own property journeys.
Now, with over 15 years in the industry, Karl is known for his genuine, people-first approach. He believes real estate isn’t just about transactions - it’s about listening, understanding, and making the process as seamless as possible. Whether buying, selling, or simply seeking advice, Karl is dedicated to helping others find their own place to call home.
